What are spider veins?

Spider veins get their name from their web-like appearance. They are small areas of damaged veins visible through your skin's surface. Spider veins are most commonly found on the legs but can also develop on your face or other areas of your body. 

Your veins work to move deoxygenated blood back to your heart. They have tiny valves inside that ensure blood keeps flowing in one direction. When one or more of these valves becomes damaged, blood can pool in that section of the vein. 

This causes the vein walls to bulge, and the darkened blood becomes visible through the skin. Spider veins can be red, blue, or purple. They are often smaller than the diameter of a quarter but can sometimes spread across a larger section of your skin. You can develop one or many spider veins. 

How can Vasculaze treat spider veins?
